Why is Airplane Food so Bad?
Most of us dread airline food and prefer to just eat at home or at the airport before boarding. Anything to avoid the tray of tastelessness, right? However, if recent research is to be believed it’s not the airline’s fault completely that the food onboard seems to be almost tasteless.
Apparently, at high altitude, because of the reduced cabin pressure and lower oxygen levels, 1/3rd of your taste buds become numb. This in turn dulls certain flavors and makes it seem like airline food is worse than it is. We guess we’ll have to try and eat it on the ground to see if there’s a difference…
