#9: Jimmy Carter
The 39th President, Jimmy Carter, has had the longest life of any President. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday on October 1st, 2024, and is alive as of this writing. When he was 18, he was the Midshipman of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. He had a long career in the Navy until his father, Earl Carter, passed away.

Earl was involved with the Georgia House of Representatives, and Jimmy Carter entered politics out of an obligation to fill in his shoes. While his Presidency wasn’t generally considered one of the best, his desire to serve his country continued well into his later years, as he helped build houses until he couldn’t.
