However, until he finally won the prestigious award in 2016 for his performance in The Revenant, he had to sit there in the crowd every year as they read out the winner’s name, only to lost to his costars every time.
In 2014, the actor thought this was finally going to be the year when he wins the desired award for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, but once again, this night ended with another failed nomination, as the award went to his costar, Matthew McConaughey. Despite his acting skills, he couldn’t hide his disappointment this time, and his miserable expression eventually became a viral meme.
