Reschedule, Please
Oh, cool! On August 21st, there’s going to be a free Solar Eclipse Party, and everyone’s invited! Oh, crud. It turns out that August 21st is a weekday, meaning that our kids have to go to school that day. Could someone please inform the manager of the universe that the 21st is highly inconvenient for any kids who want to stare directly at the solar eclipse, please?
You can’t. No one can. You see, the sun and the moon move independently of anything. Nobody tells it what to do, just as nobody tells the Earth to be round or to orbit the sun every 365.25 days.
