#9: “X Save No Erase”
If you dig deep enough into your own family lore, you are bound to find some weird and interesting origin stories for the specific things you all do together without thinking. This is especially true when it comes to siblings. This person clearly remembers how, as kids, he and his siblings would save the “good” living room seats for themselves by saying “X Save.” One day, his brother turned their world upside down by drawing out an imaginary eraser to “erase” the imaginary X on someone’s seat.
First of all, how dare he! Second, we have to admit that this was a genius workaround. His other siblings quickly called B.S. and made a new phrase to say. To this day, whenever a sibling gets up from their seat and wants to “save” it from being taken, they say, “X Save No Erase.” It doesn’t even make sense to say it anymore, but it’s part of the family lore now.
