#5: The Winner Takes It All
You might not appreciate this house rule if you’re a competitive person. This person and their family love to play board games together. However, they have a unique consequence for whoever wins a game. We say “consequence” because it’s not exactly a reward. The winner of the game is tasked with putting away said board game. This seems counterintuitive. Isn’t the winner supposed to sit back and gloat about how amazing and smart they are? Not in this family! They don’t want the winner to get a big ego. It’s best to kick someone down a few notches before their head gets too big. No one is above clean-up chores—- not even a spectacular winner.
