#17: Fake It Till You Make It
As we hear more and more advice from random people on the internet, we have quickly realized that most people have no idea what they’re talking about. Someone heard this tidbit of advice somewhere, and it’s pretty flabbergasting. Someone advised that it’s best to spend above your means. You don’t have money for something you want? No problem! Charge it to your credit card!
What in the world is the reasoning behind this insane support of credit card debt? Well, the person serving up this bad advice said that living above our means motivates us to do better. Uh, no, it doesn’t. Living above our means causes debt, stress, and potential financial ruin. Don’t be delusional like this person. If you can’t afford that designer bag, don’t buy it.
