Parents often project their own traumas and insecurities onto their kids. It’s not fun to think about, but it’s true. That seems to be the exact opposite of what most parents advise their kids to do as they become older. Teenagers and young adults are in the prime of their lives. Of course, they should take risks! How else are they supposed to grow and learn? We can’t help but wonder what happened in this dad’s life to prompt such fear-based advice.
