Assuming Responsibility
This is a typical response to your child trying to assume responsibilities and offering to help. Familiar, especially when you don’t trust your kids to fulfill such a responsibility. Suddenly, Ken, who can’t even look after himself, is offering to care for the golden retriever family. All you can do is laugh in disbelief at what you just heard?
Surely if you could take care of a dog, you’d have to be responsible enough to pick up your toys first or make your bed, but mommy has to do that for you! It’s best to laugh it off and pretend you haven’t heard anything, or the family dog will be under a dangerous and negligent company. What happens after agreeing to hand over such responsibility? Well, you’d have to leave that to your imagination, and you might just end up with no dog.
