A Mother Of My Word
When a mother promises something to a kid in return for a favor, a mother must comply with the promise. Otherwise, things might go awry. My sister wanted my nephew to clean his room before all the guests would arrive for dinner one Saturday evening and promised him to take him to the zoo but didn’t specify when.
Little did my sister know not to promise things like that to a kid so intelligent and persistent as my nephew. He woke up the following day, got all his zookeeper gear on, and was ready at the door at 7 am, waiting for my sister to get up and willing to take him to the zoo. She had to eventually take him because she couldn’t bear to see his face of disappointment.
