#19: Infinity Nets – Yayoi Kusama (1959)
Humans, especially artists, are drawn to obsession, just like Yayoi Kusama. Her Infinity Nets series, first shown in New York in 1959, is built on endlessly repeated arcs and dots that seem to dissolve into infinity. Each tiny stroke was a ritual, a cathartic act of self-obliteration, a way for Kusama to merge with the universe.

From afar, the patterns feel mechanical; up close, they pulse with human intent.
