Thanksgiving Stress
As I’ve said elsewhere in this article, preparing a massive meal is not easy, especially since it involves roasting a turkey, which is a skill that most of us do not have because most of us only use it once a year, at Thanksgiving. And then you’ve got to coordinate the timing of the turkey with finishing all of the other dishes at the same time, as well as clean the house and set the table.
So really, I think it’s no surprise whatsoever if your mother, or whoever in your household is in charge of the meal, is feeling a little on edge during the preparation thereof. And it’s no surprise if she then puts on a good face when the company shows up. Maybe instead of complaining about it, you should help her.
