Let Thanksgiving Be
As I’ve said elsewhere in this article, people just need to give poor Thanksgiving its due. Look, I love Christmas as much as the next person. (OK, that’s not true; there are a lot of people who are crazy, over-the-top in love with Christmas, and I can’t compete with that. But I definitely love Christmas a whole lot.)
But poor Thanksgiving gets no love. People might make a half-hearted effort to decorate for the holiday—I’m talking a generic harvest theme with a few pumpkins and hay bales by the front door—but they don’t go nearly as hard as they do for Christmas. And it’s even worse for poor Thanksgiving when people act like they just want to ignore that the holiday even exists by starting Christmas a month early.
