27 Out-of-Touch Pieces of Advice People Received from Their Parents and Grandparents

You know, I wish the world worked the way this guy’s dad thinks it does: that when you need a break, you just take a break, no matter what’s going on in your job, no matter what responsibilities you have, no matter how much table 6 needs more ketchup.

Unfortunately for me—but fortunately for table 6—we can’t just peace out whenever we feel like it. So I agree that this is a terrible piece of advice . . . though I’m not sure Dad’s giving bad advice because he’s a Boomer; he sounds like he’s just never waited tables before.
