In the late 1960s and early 1970s, amid Bicentennial excitement, the Proyce brothers launched Yankee Doodle House in Bensenville, Illinois. By 1976, it had evolved into Yankee Doodle Dandy, boasting nearly 30 outlets in Chicago. Adorned in patriotic colors, the menu echoed Burger Chef.
