Polite society is wreaking havoc on effective production. Words hold power. There’s no need to be threatening, but a bold word choice can make all the difference. It’s not even incorrect. It WILL concern people, so why use may? We do it to be polite. The subconscious message is as weak as Aelfred the Great claims it to be.

Take charge and use jargon that gets the real message across. You can still be nice. You can still be polite. Just be honest in the process. It’s bound to make things happen and create a sense of urgency that cannot be ignored. I say we make this the new terminology across the board. Who’s with me?
