Elda Castle in New York
If there’s one thing we’re certain about the previous owners of the Elda Castle, it’s that they loved their privacy. The Elda Castle in New York was created in the middle of 50 acres of woodland in the 1920s by David Thomas Abercrombie. That’s right, the co-founder of the clothing manufacturer and his wife, Lucy, constructed this castle.
So, what happened to the mansion? Abercrombie and Fitch still rakes in billions every year, so the Abercrombie family shouldn’t still hold the deeds to this home, right? While the Abercrombie family still owns the home, they pretty much let Mother Nature take over. In 2017, it went for sale for $3.2 million.
