#7: Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1979)

Welcome Back, Kotter was a sitcom about a teacher who returns to his old high school to teach a group of underachiever kids known as the Sweathogs. The show had a perfect mix of heart and goofiness, with memorable one-liners and classroom antics. And yes, it pretty much launched John Travolta into stardom as Vinnie Barbarino. The theme song slapped, the jokes were constant, and somehow it made you care about those goof-offs who couldn’t stay out of trouble for five minutes. It was huge when it aired in the 70s… now it’s mostly just a deep cut for sitcom nerds.
