#3: The Gallant Men (1962-1963)
Like many shows of the Boomer era, The Gallant Men was one of those shows that tried to ride the WWII drama wave but got overshadowed almost immediately. It followed a group of American soldiers fighting in Italy during the war, but it just never hit as hard as others like Combat! (1962-1967), which came out around the same time and stole its thunder. The vibe was more “serious war drama” than action-packed, which might be why it only lasted one season. These guys were brave, no doubt, but the show itself? It pretty much got lost in the trenches of TV history.
