#12: Cabbage Patch Kids
Okay, this is technically more of an ’80s thing, but these dolls were still popular in the ‘90s. Cabbage Patch Kids were released in 1982 as dolls who grow from magical cabbages and want to be adopted. In 1983, there were literal riots over these toys from parents who couldn’t get them at stores.

And I don’t get why. Personally, these dolls are ugly. There’s even a rumor that the Cold War-stricken government had these toys designed to be ugly because that’s what we’d all look like after the nukes dropped. I believe it!
