Ding Dong School stands as the pioneering preschool series in the US, launching a year before Romper Room in 1952 and lasting until 1956. Hosted by Frances Horwich, known as “Ms. Francis,” it introduced children to fundamental concepts in an engaging way.
Dubbed “the nursery school of the air,” Ding Dong School initially broadcasted on WNBQ-TV in Chicago, catching NBC executives’ attention. The innovative half-hour format was then nationally aired by NBC, enriching preschool education from 1952 to 1956.
