Rainbow trees
Not to be outdone by some poxy mountains, the eucalyptus trees of the Philippines are just as beautiful, and just as strange-looking. The gorgeous colors that you can see on its trunk are made by the staggered process of bark shedding. The outer bark is shed at different times across the year, peeling away to show the bright green inner bark.
The only eucalyptus trees to grow in the rainforest, it has recently been grown in plantations to be harvested for making white paper. Due to their interesting appearance, the trees have frequently been planted as ornamental features in warmer places in the Northern Hemisphere, such as Hawaii and Los Angeles. I’d quite happily have one in my garden to look at all day.
