The happiest animal in the world
This is the Quokka, a small marsupial from the islands off the coast of Western Australia. National Geographic recently dubbed it the “happiest animal in the world,” which is quite a claim. They have evidence to back this fact up, however, besides his little smiling face!
These little critters are particularly docile, which has led to tourists traveling to Rottnest Island to take Quokka selfies. Those who wish to try this be warned, though as the quokkas have very sharp teeth. The animals are endangered due to shrinking habitat. This guy looks pretty relaxed about it, though.
