Just a baby
While the beginning of the ice melt and the river that formed Niagara Falls was 18,000 years ago, we’d only begin to recognize the formation 10,000 years ago. Now, that sounds like a pretty long time, but it’s not even close to the age of some of the other natural rock formations you can find around the world.
Should you take a trip to the coast of Northern Ireland you’ll find another familiar rock formation, that of the Giant’s Causeway. This spectacular sight makes Niagara Falls look like a toddler, as its columns were formed more than 60 million years ago, and are still standing today!
