#5: Gonzo’s weird stunts (1976)

If someone told you a performer wanted to recite Shakespeare while hanging from a tire, wrestle a brick, or launch himself through something unsafe, you would probably ask whether Gonzo was involved. Dave Goelz’s character brought a very particular charm to The Muppet Show: oddness without apology. Gonzo did not seem to know where comedy ended, and personal expression began, which made his stunts strangely endearing. His long nose, intense stare, and fearless commitment turned every doomed act into a tiny artistic statement.
