Uncovering Irene
The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo was like the training wheels for 90s kids who would eventually grow up addicted to Law & Order. Saturday nights were spent watching Irene Ng solve one mystery at a time as she went about her business. She was, in fact, 22 years old while filming, but we included her on this list because we thought she looked like a kid just like us.
Irene spent some time on stage before shifting gears and finishing at Harvard University. She used her book smarts to become a banker before returning to the classroom as a preschool instructor. In 2009, she launched a Mandarin Chinese immersion school to assist more US children in learning two languages.
