#2: Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979)

This one shouldn’t be a surprise. After all, upon its release, Life of Brian was banned in Ireland and Norway. A religious parody by Monty Python, the movie centers on Brian of Nazareth, who was born in the stable beside the one where Jesus Christ was born. Because of his similar birth story, Brian is often confused with Jesus. Its religious undertones have been considered blasphemous since its release, though Otto’s strong resemblance to Adolf Hitler is definitely the most controversial part of the movie. Those reasons combined are why this couldn’t be made today.
