The 1980s was indisputably a great decade for film, giving us such iconic movies as The Breakfast Club, E.T., and Blade Runner. Sure we all know that parents can be clueless, and they can most definitely be overprotective, but surely it has a limit? These movies had kids disappearing for days on end and traveling through time or fighting monsters, and the parents would never find out until everything was resolved at the end.
