#18: Zildjian Cymbals
Before electric guitars or synthesizers, there was Zildjian. It was founded in 1623, making it one of the oldest companies in music. Handcrafted in Istanbul and later in the U.S., its cymbals have echoed through jazz clubs, rock arenas, and symphony halls. Ringo Starr, Buddy Rich, and John Bonham all gave them their crash.

Each one has a slightly different voice, a shimmer that’s both powerful and refined. Zildjian wrote history, one metallic spark at a time.
