Sophie Hunter and Benedict Cumberbatch
English director, Sophie Hunter married actor Benedict Cumberbatch on Valentine’s Day 2015, at a 12th-century medieval church on the Isle of Wight in England. The reception took place at Mottistone Manor, a 650-acre estate, which holds historical significance, as it was first, mentioned in Britain’s famed Domesday Book, a survey of England dating back to 1086.
Sophie stunned at the wedding in her Valentino gown. The unconventional couture dress was created out of silver lace. It featured a flattering high neckline and long sleeves, and a long, flowing train. The unusual gown was designed by Sophie and Valentino designers Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri and made in just three months. The high-waisted medieval gown with high neck and long sleeves looked perfect on Sophie and fit the setting.
