#6: Saturn’s Rings May Be Younger Than Sharks
The rings look eternal. Through a telescope, Saturn seems dressed in something permanent, as if the solar system simply came with that elegant band already in place. The age of those rings, however, is still debated. Some evidence from the Cassini mission has supported a relatively young age, perhaps tens or hundreds of millions of years, while other newer models have argued they could be much older. Sharks, meanwhile, trace their lineage back more than 400 million years.
