“There are plenty of fish in the sea” is one of the oldest cliches in the book; we don’t know where it originated, but we know it dates back hundreds of years. There’s one very fundamental flaw about this idiom; how is the fact that there are plenty of fish in the sea supposed to be of any comfort for single people?

The problem in today’s world is that we have too much of everything, it’s impossible to choose. There are so many options out there, you always feel like there’s something better you might be missing out on. Too many options to choose from aren’t necessarily a good thing.
