#31: Dolly Parton – I Will Always Love You
It is always a funny thing when you realize that just because a certain artist sings a song doesn’t mean that they also wrote it… We often assume that just because a song sounds so natural coming out of someone’s voice then it must be their own. Well, there are plenty of songs out there that were written by one artist and performed by another.
We know that this one might be confusing for some people, but Whitney Houston was not the writer of “I Will Always Love You”. Dolly Parton, the queen that she is actually wrote this very iconic song before Houston was ever set to sing it in the film, The Bodyguard. Legend has it that Parton wrote this song and Jolene in the one night!
