Milana’s Parents Worked Hard for Her Future
It goes without saying that starting from scratch in a foreign country is never easy. Milana’s parents were helped by resettlement organizations that set them up with jobs. Her mother started to work in an airplane parts factory and cleaned medical buildings at night. She also completed a program to become a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
Her father worked as a donut deliveryman much to Milana’s delight. Both did their best so that Milana could experience everything that the “promised land” had to offer including private school, summer camp, and gymnastics classes. She is forever grateful for their sacrifices and hard work.
