Milana is Proud of Her Heritage
Things were understandably hard for Milana growing up in America but she found a way to embrace this new culture without forgetting her heritage. She grew up in a neighborhood with a tight-knit Russian community which is one reason why she learned how to speak Russian fluently and still does, at least with her parents.
She is quite vocal about her journey as a refugee even though she can’t remember much of what it was like to grow up in Uzbekistan. Milana considers herself very lucky for the life that she has had and is forever grateful to her parents. She is proud of her past because, without it, she wouldn’t be the person she is today.
