When we discover something truly astounding, what’s the first thing we should do? Why, post it on social media! Submitting our findings to a peer-reviewed journal can wait. Now, we need to inform the masses that Iowa is spelled entirely out of vowels.
What’s weird is that this person actually spelled Iowa correctly while posting their finding of a lifetime on social media. To the OP’s credit, if U is a vowel, the double-U should be a double-vowel. We’re not going to get too into it, but W is what some linguists call a semivowel. So, technically, the OP’s discovery is correct.
