I outsmarted your outsmarting
Teachers, here’s a quick lesson for you. Your questions have to be as precise as possible, otherwise you’re allowing your students to exercise their creativity. And as we all know, creativity is a bad thing that we need to beat out of them with boring history lessons.
This teacher gave his students pretty vague instructions. He asked them to create a timeline of events in history that they can recall off the top of their heads. One student, who probably didn’t pay very much attention in class, wrote the most obvious answer: War of 1812 took place in 1812.
