Lucille Ball
Lucille Ball is known around the world as the funny, ditsy, loud mouth housewife from the beloved 1950’s sitcom, “I Love Lucy.” But Lucille was so much more than what she was showing on the screen.
She was the first female head of a Hollywood studio and was the brains and force behind her production company with her husband Desi Arnaz, Desilu Productions. After decades of bringing bright smiles and laughter into American living rooms, Lucille Ball died of a ruptured aorta on April 26, 1989. She was 77 years old.
