Shag wooly carpets
Feeling a warm and deep carpet beneath your feet was probably the goal for those who went out and bought a shag carpet to go on top of their wooden floors. Burying your toes deep into the fibers, lying down, and feeling cozy, were all big plusses to the purchase.
The problem with this sort of item is practicality. Keeping it clean is an absolute nightmare, with food and dirt getting stuck down in those luxurious fibers. In addition to this major drawback, it really feels as if we have moved on from trying to capture the 70s aesthetic in our soft furnishings. Why not think about choosing something more neutral instead.
