Plastic dish wear
Along the same lines as your novelty shot glasses, there is no need for your kitchen to be full of brightly colored, plastic dish wear. Generally, most people eat inside on a regular basis, in which case glass or china crockery is the accepted way to go. Obviously, if you often have picnics then having a cupboard with a dedicated set of unbreakable dish wear is important.
Your regular crockery, however, should be as stylish as the rest of your home. If you’re still using large plastic tumblers that have seen better days to drink your orange juice out of at breakfast, then you need to have a bit of a rethink.
