Jonathan assures Nigerians of better days ahead

December 29, 2014 by Kelly Davies Leave a Comment

So many activities are certainly begging for President Goodluck Jonathan’s attention, but the last service Sunday of the year is one event that was not to be replaced with any other engagement. The President congregated with the CAC, Area 1, Abuja in the last church service of the year, 2014.

Goodluck Jonathan used the opportunity among many other things, to canvass support for his administration and his re-election bid next February. He told the congregation at the Christ Apostlic Church, Area 1 in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, shortly before he left for UK, that if the country maintains the present progress under his administration, it would become a better place in the next four to five years.

Lot of efforts are being put in place to reposition the country from its present conditions, but the results might not be immediate. He urged Nigerians to continue to support his administration with unending prayers.

He said, “For me and members of my team, in spite of the challenges, we will continue to do our best.

“As a nation, we have not reached where we want to be, definitely not. But we are coming up with a number of policies.

“Those who are taking pain to look at what we are doing will agree with us that if we progress as a nation steadily in this manner, in the next four or five years, this country will be a better place.”

President Jonathan also used the opportunity to warn politicians to conduct themselves with integrity as no political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian.

The President thanked the church for their prayers, adding that his administration has laid the foundation that will begin to yield results in no distant time despite the drop in the price of oil.

He further assured the congregation that baring all predictions, next year’s elections will be hitch-free.
