Kindhearted bus drivers
It’s not that bus drivers in the US are notoriously evil. In fact, it’s the passengers who are probably the main problem with public transport. But Japanese culture is all about respecting others and offering premium services to all people, foreigners and locals alike.
Here, you can see that the bis driver is holding the umbrella for the dismounting passengers. He’s ensuring that the riders don’t get wet while they prepare their own umbrellas before stepping off. We don’t know about your town, but where we live, the bus driver gets mad at you for holding the line.
