50 Only-in-Japan Things the World Should Adopt

November 21, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Morning exercise

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take a couple of hours off in the morning just to stretch? In Japan you can. In fact, many companies, schools, and organizations hold morning exercises that any person in the community can follow.

They call it asa taisou, which is an integral part of any person’s morning routine. Although this practice is aimed more towards older members, it’s not uncommon to see school children and employees on their break join in on the stretches. This tradition is also famous in countries all over Asia, but we have yet to see this sort of thing in the US. Maybe one day it’ll catch on (fingers crossed).
