Ostensibly, mirrors shouldn’t creep us out. That figure we’re staring at is our own reflection, and we can control its movements. Of course, there’s always the possibility that someone else might suddenly pop up behind us in the mirror, which is what makes it creepy, but if you think about it, that prospect should be much scarier when we can’t see it.
