#11: Using Proper Grammar
When baby boomers were growing up, there was predominantly one accepted writing style that mirrored the formality of that time. Unlike today, there was no texting or internet slang, leading many boomers to continue using formal writing styles, even in texts that echoed the formal letters of the 1960s.
Recent studies reveal a significant decline in the use of proper grammar, seemingly eroded by time and technological advancements. This includes common mix-ups between ‘its’ and ‘it’s,’ as well as ‘they,’ ‘they’re,’ and ‘their.’ As time progresses, traditional grammar rules are increasingly viewed as relics of the past.
