I Can Wait a Little Longer
It happens to all of us from time to time: wanting to avoid human contact. Introverts just experience it more frequently. In a way, introverts in social situations are like deer – or better yet, gazelles – we’re reluctant to approach other humans and get too close to them. Even if they’re standing near a food source (or in this case, a mailbox), we keep a safe distance.
We sometimes have our moments of socializing and a sudden urge to talk to people or relate with people, but that’s all it usually is; a fleeting moment. After some time, we retreat back to our solitude, wanting no disturbance from the world. Even at family parties or events, not wanting to have that awkward conversation might lead us to seeking refuge in quiet places.
