Would you be as confused as the OP if you spotted this installation on a wall? Our first thought was “Well, that has to be some sort of modern art piece” but we couldn’t be further from the truth. The OP was spot on in guessing it was a game.
As pointed out by some knowledgeable peeps online, this is a “pachinko machine.” It’s a Japanese mechanical game much like a pinball machine but vertical and they work like Western slot machines. Apparently, there’s a massive pachinko craze in Japan and people just can’t get enough of it. To be fair, it does look like a lot of fun!
