Garden Find
It’s always exciting to find an unexpected treasure, isn’t it? When the OP found this rather interesting-looking ring in their backyard while gardening, they had to turn to the internet for answers. The internet in all its wisdom responded that this is a Georgian or early Victorian mourning ring.
Apparently, the initials belong to the lost loved one. They were usually made from 18-carat gold and enameled in black and this seems to come from the 1820s-40s. Truly amazing find! In case you’re wondering, these could go for anywhere between $300 to $2000 depending on the details. Of course, we would just keep it for the story.
