Not wanting to be alone
Living in a cell for years at a time must be extremely lonely, even with a bunkmate who’s, let’s be honest, not going to be a good friend. When this guy got out of jail, he couldn’t stand the thought of being alone, even during nighttime. So, he’d move to one of the couches in his living room to sleep nearby his father.
We’re not sure whether this has anything to do with trust issues or not. However, we can see how being alone wouldn’t be pleasant for someone who had just gained their freedom. The silence of sleeping alone can be daunting to anyone.
