Wearing Masks Before They Were Cool
As lovely as India is, it’s not the perfect country. Overpopulation in large cities, a seemingly infinite number of factories and automobiles, and a lack of concern for environmental problems (in general) have created borderline unlivable conditions. For reference, 22 of the 30 most populated cities on Earth are found in India.
It’s highly advised that you wear masks when traveling through urban areas in India due to how dense the smog is. There are over 2 million pollution-related deaths in India every year, but with increased levels of environmental awareness, the government is optimistic that those numbers will fall drastically in the near future.
